Dear Lancer Families,
We’re happy to report that the Pathway teams at La Follette are approaching online learning with creativity and collaboration! This year we have six Pathway cohorts: Health Services at all four grade levels, and Information Technology and Communication in 9th and 10th. One of the things that stands out to teachers in the first days of classes is that the Pathway students are more likely to turn their cameras on and actively participate during Zoom calls--and students tell us this is because they have built strong connections to their pathway peers.
La Follette’s pathways are also maintaining strong connections to community partners and building creative ways to connect learning to “real life.” The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness welcomed pathway students to their online Black Women’s Wellness Day conference in September. We will also have students virtually attending the Wisconsin Leadership Summit this week,
As our community stays connected during 2020, we can see that both pathway themes are powerful and relevant. We certainly need strong leadership for community health and wellness, and we are excited to be empowering students to raise their voices and use information technology to share their ideas. We’d love to hear from you with suggestions or questions!
