Two-year public institutions provide higher education and lower-level tertiary education, granting certificates, diplomas, and associate's degrees. Many also offer continuing and adult education. After graduating from a community college, some students transfer to a four-year liberal arts college or university for two to three years to complete a bachelor's degree.

Step 1: Choose the Wisconsin Technical College(s) you would like to apply to.
Step 2: Choose the program you would like to enroll in. If you are unsure, complete the Career Interest Questionaire.  If you are applying to Madison College, choose one of these options:
Step 3: Check the Application/Enrollment Timeline to make sure you don't miss a deadline!
Step 4: Complete Application. If you are applying to Madison College, create an ApplyWeb account to get started.
Step 5: Pay the Application Fee and Submit the Application. If you receive free/reduced lunch, contact your school counselor to get the fee waived before you Submit.
Step 6: Submit your transcript to the school through Parchment. If you receive free/reduced lunch, contact your school counselor after you have designated La Follette as your school in the account and they can waive the fee. Check out this video if you are having trouble ordering your transcripts:

Step 7: Fulfill any Additional Requirements. These may include submitting an ACT, SAT, Asset, or COMPASS score.  Check the specific degree program or certificate program for details.  The Compass Checklist will walk you through the steps.
Step 8: After completing Steps 1-7 and submitting your complete application, the school will contact you regarding your admission and next steps which may include an orientation, activating your student account, accessing student email, applying for financial aid, scholarships, and registering for classes.
Step 9: Apply for Scholarships.  Check out Madison College's scholarships as well!
Step 10: Apply for financial aid by completing the FAFSA. Attend College Goal Wisconsin for FREE FAFSA support and a chance to win a scholarship.
Step 11: If you are attending Madison College, Register to attend Learning to Learn or College Success Camp during the summer. You'll learn important skills related to being a successful student, meet other incoming students, and EARN CREDIT!!
Step 12: Submit your final transcript.  Remember to select "Hold for Grades" so that you are sure to send your transcript with your official graduation confirmation
