A Message from Principal Sean Storch
 
Dear Lancer families,

Welcome back to La Follette! We're excited to connect with our students and families, and start another great year of learning together. We have high expectations for success, and a clear plan to support our Lancers.
 
Madison has a vision for all students - that they will not only graduate, but graduate with the skills and abilities to be successful in college, career and community. We want our students to master academic content, build creativity, confidence and cultural competence, gain a strong sense of self and interpersonal skills and have a growth mindset to help them continually build the skills and abilities to be successful. This is reflected in the vision for Madison's graduates.
 
At La Follette, we have a "Theory of Action" that describes how we prepare all of our students for success after graduation. Our Lancer staff are committed to identifying and disrupting inequities that are barriers to student learning and growth. We purposefully work together on three important priorities:

GO TO SCHOOL NIGHT - MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Save the date for Monday, September 19 from 7:00 - 8:00 pm for Go to School Night at La Follette. This is an Open House format to meet staff members in their classrooms.
Our orchestra will be performing in the Commons beginning at 6:30, so feel free to come early.
KEY HARVEST FOOD PANTRY
 

The La Follette High School Key Club is proud to announce the opening of the LHS Key Harvest Food Pantry on September 1! Our pantry is a long-term service project focused on serving our students who may not have the resources to avoid hunger during the school day. Our plan is the expand food options to help those students AND families who may also need assistance with food requests once the school year is running.
LA FOLLETTE STAFF GOLF OUTING - FAMILY AND FRIENDS INVITED!

The La Follette Golf Outing will take place at 4 pm on Friday, September 23 at Monona Golf Course. It will be a scramble format, and faculty, staff, friends, family, and community are all invited to attend. The entry fee of $25 will include nine holes of golf, gift bag, silent auction, raffle, and a good deal of fun. For more information contact Ted Ryan. Entry form here.
CLASS OF 2017 - SENIOR PHOTOS DUE SEPTEMBER 23

 
Seniors photos for the 2016-17 Statesman yearbook are due September 23. If a photo is not supplied to the Statesman your student's Lifetouch photo will be used in place of a supplied photograph.
 
LHS has a professional photographer who donates his time to take senior pictures for those who may not have the resources to have this done or have run out of time. See Senior Picture Requirements. Contact Donna Kennedy for more information.
HOMECOMING 2016

Homecoming week begins September 26, so we want to give you a heads up for the important dates surrounding this activities-filled week.

More information about Theme Days, Spirit Week, Activities Night, our Homecoming Game and Dance will all be available on our website in mid-September.
