La Follette High School offers instruction in more than 100 fields, with more than 250 courses. Learning takes place in a variety of settings — from traditional classrooms to service-learning experiences in the community. Additional opportunities for growth range from over 60 student organizations to unique student leadership communities.
The La Follette Experience
La Follette is one of a small number of schools in the state using the block system. Each class is an hour and a half, with four classes per day. Most classes are completed in one semester. A new set of four classes begins in the spring semester for a total of eight classes per year per student.
La Follette High School students are expected to apply learning inside and outside the traditional classroom in ways that have a positive impact on the world. This principle draws upon opportunities ranging from conducting research to embracing entrepreneurship to developing multicultural competency.
